Nikhil Kapoor is an MBA graduate from Boston. He returns to Mumbai after five years to flee the memory of his parent's sudden death in an accident. Handsome, witty and extrovert by nature his life changes the moment he meets Anamika at a night club in Mumbai.

Urmila Matondkar as Anamika Joshi
Anamika Joshi is a civil engineer by profession. She is sexy, intelligent, flamboyant and aware of her attractiveness. She lives independently in the city of Mumbai and likes to take each day as it comes. But one incident changes her outlook to life?.from being a wild playful girl she becomes a caring woman. She falls in love with Rahul Kher when suddenly their past catches up with them.

Rahul Kher is a businessman by profession? he is an introvert and of artistic sensibility. He and Nikhil have grown up together at Doon school and later in college at Xavier's. They share the common love for basketball. When Nikhil reappears after five years he is overjoyed. Rahul introduces Nikhil to his friend Steve and they usually spend a lot of time together hanging out. And one such night when the three are hanging out at a nightclub an incident happens that changes their lives.

Steve D Douza is a builder's son? and that perhaps is his basic problem. He has been successful in what he wanted to do and had to go back to his father and join his business which he does not enjoy doing. He has become an alcoholic and his marriage to Ira is going through a bad time. He is edgy and childlike.

Ira Malhotra Juhi Chawla is married to Steve and finds happiness in her work at the old age home. She was a successful model and had given up everything to be with Steve. Storyline:

Bas Ek Pal is a journey of revelations, passions, jealousies, insecurities, love and anger, as each character searches for that ever - elusive moment of happiness.
 

During one night of partying, Anamika Urmila Matondkar meets Nikhil Sanjay Suri at Anticlock pub? The chemistry between them is instant and obvious from the moment they meet. However she disappears into the night without even telling him her name.
 

Nikhil starts to visit the pub regularly hoping to meet her again. Many nights of waiting later, on a night when Nikhil has gone to Anticlock with Rahul Jimmy Shergill and Steve Rehaan Engineer, Anamika appears with her friends. An altercation takes place, leading to a scuffle? And in the scuffle a shot is fired.
Time stands still as Nikhil realizes that he is holding a gun in his hand, the gun from which the shot has just been fired? This moment would change all their lives. Irrevocable!
